[Jan. 4] Sent down for concurrence – came up concurred and Messrs. Hobbs of Berwick, Adams of Portland, Milliken of Frankfort, and Harnden of Woolwich were joined on the part of the House.

[Mr. Seaver, Senator from York] Josiah M. Seaver, the member elected to fill the vacancy in York county appeared, and was attended by Mr. Dennett to the officiating Governor & council, and having there taken and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualifying him to take a seat at the Senate Board, took his place accordingly.

[Committee of arrangements.] An order of the House of Representatives appointing Messrs. Balch, Scamman and Bradbury, with such as might be joined by the Senate, a committee to make arrangements for the Legislature and Executive authority of the State to attend public prayer, when the Governor elect shall be qualified to assume the duties of his office – came up for concurrence – Read and concurred, and Messrs. Bond and Holland are joined on the part of the Senate.

[Committee on seats of members] Ordered that Messrs. Green, Pierce, Seaver, Wheeler and O'Brien be a committee to arrange the seats of the members at this board.

[Repeat of Committee to wait on the Gov. elect] The Committee appointed to wait upon the Hon. Albion K. Parris and inform him of his election to the office of Governor of the State reported that they had performed that service, and that the Governor elect was pleased to say that he would meet the two houses in convention at twelve o'clock at noon this day to be qualified agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution. Read and accepted.

Bond, Ordered that a message be sent to the House of Representatives proposing a convention of both Houses of the Legislature in the Representatives' chamber tomorrow at half past 9 o'clock in the forenoon for the purpose of choosing seven Counsellors to advise with the Governor in the executive part of the Government = and also to choose a Secretary of
