The following standing Committees were appointed by the President, to wit. [1822, Jan. 5]

[Standing committees] [State lands] Joint - on State Lands Messrs. Tallman & Case of the Senate, who was joined by Messrs. Lewis of Gorham, Starr of Jay & Crowell of Whitfield on the part of the House.

[Parishes & religious societies etc.] – on Incorporation of parishes and other Religious Societies, and Ministerial and School Lands. Messrs. Buxton and Tuttle of the Senate, who were joined by Messrs. Elden, of Buxton, Harnden of Woolwich & Whitney of Brooks on the part of the House.

[Manufacturing Companies] — on applications for Manufacturing Companies Messrs. Poor and Holland of the Senate, who were joined by Messrs. Hobbs of Berwick, Purrington of Topsham, Crowell of Waterville on the part of the House

[Interior Fisheries] — on Interior Fisheries Messrs. O'Brien and Witham of the Senate, who were joined by Messrs. Balch of Lubec, Thomas of Eden, Blackwell of Madison, Chase of Kittery, & Wood of Winthrop on the part of the House.

[Turnpikes, Bridges, &c] — on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals Messrs. Dennett & Morrill of the Senate, who were joined by Messrs. Dunn of Poland, Milliken of Frankfort & Houdlette of Dresden on the part of the House.
