[January 8,] [turnpikes &c.] and they were severally read and committed to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, in concurrence with the House.

The following petitions were also read and committed to the same committee to wit.

Petition of Proprietors of Hancock Brook Canal in Oxford county for further powers and another

Petition of the Same Proprietors, and they were sent down for concurrence, and came up concurred.

[Petitions &c. committed to Committee on Incorpora. of towns] The following Petitions read and committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on Incorporation of Towns, came up for concurrence, to wit.

Petition of Paul Lambert & others of Plantation No. 3, range 6, Oxford county for incorporation by name of Dover, " of Nathaniel Larrabee of Danville praying to be annexed to Durham, " of Luther Fogg and others of Monroe, praying to be annexed to the town of Brooks, " of Charles Seavens that he may not be separated from town of Brewer in case of division of said Town, " of Rufus Bartlett and others of town of Monroe, that Belfast may be made a half shire town, " of E. Hoyt and others praying that part of Belgrade be annexed to Readfield, and " of Elijah P. Pike & others praying that town of Frankfort be annexed to the county of Penobscot, also the following remonstrances, to wit,
