Jan. 8] [Petitions referred to Committee on pensions] The petitions of John Carlton and of Christopher Atkinson – each praying for a pension from the State, committed in the House to the joint standing committee on Applications from sick and wounded soldiers, were severally read and committed to the same committee in concurrence with the House.
[Petitions for Banks] The Petitions of Ichabod Goodwin & others for a Bank at South Berwick and of Hosea Rich & others for a Bank at Bangor, committed in the House to the committee on Banks & Banking came up for concurrence. Read and severally committed to the same committee in concurrence with the House.
[Petitions referred to Committee on Parishes &c.] Order of the House that the petition of the town of Madison be committed to the joint standing Committee on new trials, came up for concurrence. Read and non-concurred, the petition being for leave to sell ministerial lands, and the same is committed to the joint standing committee on Parishes & ministerial lands to. Sent down for concurrence, came up concurred.
The Remonstrance of Moses Swett, minister of Sanford, against the petition presented at last Session for leave to sell parsonage lands in said town of Sanford committed in the House to the joint standing committee on parishes, ministerial & school lands etc. was read and committed to the same committee in concurrence with the House.
