40 [1822 Jan. 8] New Jersey Legislature with certain Resolutions respecting appropriations of public lands of the United States. Read and with the accompanying documents committed to the joint committee on that part of the Governor's message which relates to the Maryland Resolutions. Sent down for concurrence.

[Gov. message & memorial from City of Washington] The Secretary of State came in and laid on the table a communication from the Governor, containing a letter and memorial respecting the sale of lottery tickets in this State for the benefit of that city, for which the said city prayed leave might be granted by this legislature. Read and committed to Messrs. Bradbury and Green on the part of the Senate, with such as may be joined by the House. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred, and Messrs. Virgin, Conant and Witham were joined on the part of the Senate.

[Order for but one session a day] Ordered that when the Senate do adjourn, they adjourn to tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock, and that the Senate have but one session each day commencing at 9 o'clock A.M. until otherwise ordered, and that the Secretary inform the House thereof.

A message from the House by Mr. Child their Clerk "Mr. President, I am directed to inform the Senate that the House of Representatives will have but one session each day, commencing at nine o'clock, until otherwise ordered."

[Blanks for use of Senate] Ordered that the Secretary of the senate furnish such blanks as may be requisite for the use of the Senate.
