Wednesday January 9, 1822

[Petition of A. Porter] The Petition of Aaron Porter praying that a review may be granted of an action himself against Daniel Cole & al. was read and committed to the joint standing committee on New Trials, sent down for concurrence; came up concurred.

[S. Bishop & als. petition] The petition of Samuel Bishop & others, committee of Dresden praying for an alteration of the pauper law committed in the House to Messrs. Hayes, Dunn & Lowney, to be joined by the Senate – came up for concurrence – Read and concurred & Messrs. Ripley and Morrill were joined on the part of the Senate.

[Petition of Benja. Clark] The petition of Inhabitants of Trenton praying for relief from expenses incurred in supporting Benjamin Clark, committed in the House to a special committee, came up for concurrence – Read and non concurred, and committed to the committee on accounts. Sent down for concurrence – came up concurred –

[Committee on Stoves] Mr. Poor from the Committee on that subject, reported that the stove be removed to the opposite side of the Senate chamber, and that a funnel be procured of sufficient length to carry the smoke into the chimney where it then stood – which was accepted.

[Committee to hear Trustees of Washington Academy] Ordered that Messrs. Bond and O'Brien, with such as may be joined by the House, be a committee to hear the trustees of the funds of the Washington Academy. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred and Messrs. Milliken, Wood and Barnard were joined on the part of the House.

[Order to furnish Gov. & Council with bills & printed] On motion by Mr. Bradbury – Ordered that the governor and each member of the council be furnished with a copy or copies of all papers, bills or documents printed for the use of the members of the Legislature by the order of either House, and that the printer, or person whose duty it is furnish the same accordingly. Sent down for concurrence, came up concurred –
