[Bills read the first time] The following Bills were severally read a first time to wit. An Act to incorporate the town of Dover An Act to change the name of Gerry, and An Act to extend the time for building Rumford bridge, and they were assigned for a second reading tomorrow at 10 o'clock, and committed to the committee on Bills in second reading.

[Bill] Bill to alter the name of Phillips Limerick Academy was read twice and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

[Committee on Banks &c.] Order of the House to raise a special committee on the subject of investigating the pecuniary concerns of Banks, came up for concurrence. Read and ordered to lie on the table.

[Harlem leave – B.] Order of the House on the petition on Town of Harlem giving leave to bring in a bill, was read and concurred.

[Petition of Waterville College] The Petition of the Trustees of Waterville College was read and committed to the joint committee on that part of the Governor's message which relates to the encouragement of the Literary Institutions at Brunswick and Waterville. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

[Resolve] Mr. Bond from the Committee to whom that subject was referred. Reported a Resolve directing the manner in which Bills and Resolves passed in both branches of the Legislature shall be engrossed, which Resolve was read and passed, and sent down for concurrence.

[Petitions committed to Com. on Incorp. of Towns] The following petitions and remonstrances read and committed in the House to the joint standing committee on Incorporation of Towns, came up for concurrence, to wit –
