[48] [1822 Jan. 10] [Report of Committee on Incorp. of Towns] Mr. Green from the Joint Standing Committee on Incorporation of Towns reported on the petition of the Inhabitants of part of Phillips and Freeman, and remonstrance of the Inhabitants of Phillips against said petition, that the same be referred to the next Legislature. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence; came up concurred.

Mr. Green from the same committee also reported on the petition of Isaac Willson & als. that petitioners cause an attested copy of their said petition and the order thereon to be published in the Hallowell Advocate three weeks successively, the last publication to be thirty days before the sitting of the next Legislature, to the end all persons interested may then & there shew[show] cause, if any they have, why the prayer of said petition should not be granted. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

Mr. Dennett was appointed on the Committee on public lands in the absence of Mr. Case.

[Bills passed to be engrossed] Bill to extend the time for building Rumford Bridge was read a second time as reported by the Committee on Bills in the second reading taken into a new draft and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the town of Dover read a second time as reported by the Committee on Bills in the second reading with amendments, and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

[Bill - 1st read.] Bill to Incorporate the Master, Wardens and members of United Lodge was read the first time, and tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for second reading, and committed to the Committee on Bills in the second reading.

[Messenger & Doorkeeper] The Committee appointed to procure a door keeper and messenger to the Senate, were discharged from any further service, at their request, and tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for the choice of Messenger, by ballot.
