[1824] new County;

[Remonstrances] Remonstrance of Joseph Jellison and others against sundry Petitions for a new County from Hancock; Remonstrance of William Abbot and others against sundry Petitions for a new County from Hancock; Remonstrance of David McGaffy & others of Mt. Vernon against Petition of Aras Gove & others to be annexed to Readfield; Remonstrance of James Leach and others against Petition of John McClure and others to annex part of Swanville to Waldo; and Remonstrance of Gorham Packs and others against Petition of E. Weston for the Incorporation of a town to be called Kilmarnock; and they were severally read, referred to the same Committee in concurrence with the House.

[Petitions referred] The following Petitions committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on New Trials, came up for concurrence, viz: Petition of William Richards and others of Winthrop for a new trial; Petition of John Allan that he with the heirs of Col. Allen may be legally authorized to act, they being under age; Petition of Jonathan McKenney that he may be remunerated for exertions to bring John Johnson, a fugative[fugitive] from justice, to punishment; and Petition of Thomas Stevens for authority to make and execute a Deed to True Leavitt; and they were severally referred to the same Committee in concurrence with the House. Petition of John Carlton 2nd for a pension committed in the House to the Committee on Sick and wounded Soldiers, came up for concurrence, and
