[1824] Senate January 16 1824

[Report relative to the State Prison] The Report of Daniel Rose Esq. relative to the State Prison, having been read, was referred the Joint Committee on so much of the Governors Message as relates to the State Prison. Sent down for concurrence, and came up concurred.

[Bill read once] Bill to incorporate the Trustees of the funds of the first Baptist Society in Surry, was read once and committed & 9 O'clock tomorrow morning assigned for a second reading.

[Report on Petition] Mr. Wheeler from the Committee on the Petition of the Selectmen of Farmington, reported that the subject ought to be referred to a select Committee of the two branches; read, accepted and Messrs. Campbell & Witham were appointed a Committee on the part of the Senate. Sent down for concurrence, was concurred, and Messrs. Parlin Butterfield and Brown were joined.

[Bill read once] Bill to provide for the sale and disposition of Ministerial and School lands, was read once, committed, & 9 O'clock tomorrow morning assigned for a 2nd reading.

[Resolve in favor of Thurston Card] Mr. Steel from the Committee on the Petition of Thurston Card, reported a Resolve in favour of Thurston Card which was read once and 10 O'clock tomorrow morning assigned for a 2nd Reading. It was committed in the meantime.
