[Message from the House]

A message was received from the House informing that the House had reconsidered their vote by which they had assigned Monday next for coming to the choice of a Major General on their part, and that they had assigned Tuesday next at 10 O clock for that purpose; also that the House had on their part added Messrs. Williams of Augusta and Pond of Bucksport to the Committee on State Lands.

[Petitions referred]

Petition of Hallowell and Augusta Bank for removal of the restrictions imposed on said Bank; and

Petition of the President and Directors of the Cumberland and Oxford Canal Corporation for a Bank for said Canal; committed in the House to the Committee on Banks and Banking, came up for concurrence, were severally read and concurred.

Petition of William McGlouflin and others that the obstructions to running lumber down the Penmaquan River, be removed, referred in the House to the Committee on Turnpikes &c. came up for concurrence, was read and concurred.

On motion of Mr. Whitney, Ordered that the Petition of Joseph Williamson and others, be taken from the files and laid on the table; which was referred to the Committee on Incorporation of Towns: Sent down for concurrence and came up concurred.
