A message was sent to the House proposing a Convention of the two Houses at 11 O clock for the purpose of coming to the choice of a Treasurer of State; and A message was then received from the House concurring in the foregoing proposition.

On motion of Mr. Dunn, Ordered that Petition of Selectmen of Otisfield; and Petition of Selectmen of Harrison, be taken from the files and laid on the table: Referred to the Committee on New Trials; Sent down for concurrence and came up concurred.

Petition of Samuel Kelley and others for leave to erect a Tall Bridge from the mainland in Calais to the Island in the Schoodic River, referred in the House to the Committee on Turnpikes &c. came up for concurrence was Read and concurred.

[Committee on respecting Pounds &c]

Order of the House that Messrs. Goodenow Howard and Whitemore be a Committee with such as the Senate may join, to take into consideration the expediency of passing an Act in addition to an Act entitled an "Act respecting pounds and impounding beasts going at large or damage feasant", with leave to report by Bill or otherwise; came up for concurrence, was read and concurred and Messrs. Parsons of Y. and Fairbanks were joined.
