On motion of Mr. Dunlap, Ordered that the Committee on Parishes and other Religious Societies, be instructed to enquire into the expediency of authorizing and empowering Parishes to appoint Treasurers of Parishes Collectors of Taxes therein, in the same manner as towns are now authorized by law to do: Sent down for concurrence, and came up concurred.

Mr. Whitney from the Committee on the Petition of John Watts and others, Reported that the Petitioners cause an attested copy of their petition with the order thereon to be published in the Eastern Argus, a paper printed in Portland, thirty days at least before the first wednesday of the first session of the next Legislature: Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence, and came up concurred.
