An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing that all messages between the two branches of the Legislature be transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Representatives respectively & that all papers be transmitted by them or their Assistants - & the House concurred.

Ordered that the Committee appointed to contract for the printing for the State the ensuing political year, be requested to give notice to the several printers in the town of Portland & such others as they may deem expedient requesting them to hand in to said committee sealed proposals stating the terms on which they will contract to execute the printing for the State the ensuing political year and on condition that security be given for the faithful performance of said contract - read and passed. Sent up for concurrence.

An An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs Stebbins, Ripley & Southwith a committee with such as the House may join to examine the returns of votes for Governor from the several towns & plantations in this State - and the House concurred and Messrs Russell of North Yarmouth, Benson of China, Page of Hallowell, Blaney of Bristol & Bragdon of York were joined
