Petition of Samuel Wood and others to be incorporated by the name of the Winthrop Manufacturing Company was read and in concurrence with the House referred to the Committee on applications for manufacturing Companies.

Petition of Ichabod Goodwin and others, that the Courts and County Officers in the County of York may be located at Kennebunk, was read and in concurrence with the House, referred to the Select Committee on that subject

Petition of Winthrop Chapman that Penobscot Lodge may be incorporated, was read, and in concurrence with the House, referred to the Committee on Parishes &c.

Petition of George Erskine and others for a revision of the law relating to the solemnization of marriages, was read and in concurrence with the House referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Order of the House of Representatives that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of modifying or amending the law as to licensing Retailers of spirituous liquors, so as to subject them to the payment of a certain tax or duty in proportion to the quantity by them respectively sold, was read and passed in concurrence.
