Order of the House of Representatives, that the Committee on State Lands be instructed to inquire into the expediency of requiring the Land Agent, annually to state to the Legislature the names of the several persons, to whom he has sold lands, where said Lands are situated and the quantity sold to each person, the price at which each tract was sold, the credit on which the same was sold, and the names of the sureties, and the amount of money paid to the Agent by each purchase of land. Also to consider the expediency of altering the Law, so as to make it the duty of the Land Agent to take all notes or securities for land payable to the State of Maine, and that he be required annually to account with the treasurer of the State for all monies and securities by him received for land sold by him, was read and passed in concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Kennebunk Port Distillery and Bill to set off Nahum Corson with his estate from Dearborn and annex the same to the town of Waterville, were severally read a first time and tomorrow 10 oclock assigned for a second reading

Resolve in favor of Josiah Towle, came back from the House, they having refused to consider the amendments proposed and adhered to their former vote passing this Resolve to be engrossed and now the Senate voted to adhere to their former vote whereby they passed the same to be engrossed as by them amended. Sent down for concurrence.
