Reports on the petitions of Samuel Lancey & als - Isaac Hodsdon granting leave for Bills, cause from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

Agreeably to assignment the House proceeded by ballot to the election on their part, of a Major General for the 4th Division (no election having been accomplished at the former balloting) – and the votes being counted it appeared the whole number given in was One hundred and twenty five – necessary for a choice Sixty three, Brig. Genl. Richard T Dunlap had eighty three votes & was declared elected on the part of the House.

Bill for the relief of School Districts in Bucksport & Orland, reported in a new draft which was adopted, was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the town of Carthage, was read a 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

The Committee on engrossed bills reported as duly engrossed, Resolve – in favor of the heirs of Joseph Allen, which was finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.
