Hallowell as the place for the meeting of the next Legislature - Mr Evans mode to recede from the vote passing the Resolve on the 17th inst to be engrossed so far as to concur with the Senate in their proposed amendments - and the question was taken by yeas & nays and decided in the affirmative as follows Yeas 67 Nays 59 – [see appendix page ] Mr Smith of Nobleboro’ moved a reconsideration of the last vote, and before the question was taken a motion prevailed to lay the papers upon the table until ten o clock tomorrow morning -

Mr Cummings of Paris has leave of absence after tomorrow during the remainder of the session.

Resolve for opening repairing & completing the road from Baring toward Houlton Plantation, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill – incorporating the Mutual Fire Insurance Company came from the Senate amended for concurrence – and House receded from their former vote so far as to pass the Bill to be engrossed as thus amended in concurrence with the Senate

Bill – to incorporate the Kennebec Canal Company, was read a third time, ordered to be referred to the next Legislature and in the meantime to be published in the Somerset Journal & American Advocate sixty days at least before the commencement of the next Legislature. Sent up for concurrence.

Reports on the petitions of the Selectmen of Washington - - & on the petitions of the Selectmen of Jefferson - were called up & referred to Messrs Smith of Nobleboro, Blaney of Bristol & Rowell of Jefferson -

Resolve in favor of Joel Wellington & Samuel Whitney was read once and tomorrow at 10 o clock assigned
