24 the State of the Treasury up to the close of the year 1826 which in Senate was referred to Messrs Churchill & Butman with such as the House may join and the House concurred and Messrs Deane of Ellsworth, Gilman of Wells & Church of North Salem were joined

Ordered that Messrs Carpenter of Howland, Davee of Dover & Bent of Bangor be a committee with such as the Senate may join to take into the consideration so much of the Governors Message as relates to the Penobscot and its tributaries - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence

Petitions of Cheever Fillebrown & of Margarette J Trefethren [crossed out] praying for leave to change their names

were severally read & referred to the committee on change of names.

Petition of Joseph Houlton & all that all the State taxes heretofore assessed on Houlton plantation may be remitted - read & referred to the Committee on Finance.

Petition of Peaslee Morrell 3d for leave to change his name - of the Second territorial Parish in North Yarmouth for an alteration of their name were severally read & referred to the committee on change of names.

Ordered, that after this Day, the House hold but one session each day, commencing at nine o'clock in the forenoon, until otherwise ordered - read & passed -

Memorial of the Selectmen of Sebec, of Williamsburg, of Milo, & of Brownsville praying the Legislature for further provision by law in regulating & defining the powers & extent of the Representative district to which they belong, was read & referred to the Committee on contested elections.
