106 which authorizes the Sheriffs of the several Counties to receive pay out of the Treasury of the State for returning the Certificates of votes of the several towns for a Governor & Senators to the Secretary's office, that duty being now imposed on the Clerks of the towns & plantations in this State, by the Constitution and the Statute - also to inquire into the expediency of repealing so much of the same section of said act as allows the Sheriff eight cents each for distributing Proclamations - and the House concurred.
