we fear sometimes that death has marked him for his Victim as my dear husband an [and] Oldest daughter have fallen a Victim to the fateal [fatal] monster. My health an Circumstances are such I have writen to my son to Come home if he can leave honorable he is Willing to Come home but wished me to write to you concerning the matter he is all the One that I have to look to as he hase assisted me in takeing Care of my family scence his Father death I dont see any way for me if he cannot Come but my family must be broken & Scatered but forbid it Lord I thought as there are so many that are not Only willing to go to fight for there Country but are anxious to be in the field And hopeing you might be one that would feel for others [?] & will you not hear the cry of the Widdows and the fatherless
