On motion of Mr Bourne of Kennebunk Ordered that a committee be appointed to prepare & report Rules & Orders for the government of the House the current year and Messrs. Bourne of Kennebunk, White of Monmouth, and Cole of Paris were appointed that Committee.
The Secretary of State came in & informed the House that he had as required by the Constitution laid before the Senate the returns of votes for Governor for the present year given in in the several towns & plantations within this State & returned to his office for the examination of the two Branches of the Legislature
On motion of Mr Hamlin of Columbia Ordered that a Committee of one from each County be appointed to prepare & report a list of members of this House - the town or class which each represents & the number of the seat which each occupies & report the same to the House & Messrs. Clark of Limington Morrill of Falmouth, Barnard of Dixfield, Magoun of Bath, Eaton of Winslow, Bradbury of Athens, Stevens of Lincolnville, Witham of Bluehill, Talbot of Machias & Nickerson of Orrington were appointed that Committee
On motion of Mr Pierce of Greene Ordered that a Committee be appointed to contract with some suitable person to perform the duties of Doorkeeper & page of this House the current year - and Messrs. Pierce of Greene, Smith of Westbrook & Buxton of North Yarmouth were appointed that Committee
On motion of Mr Deane of Ellsworth Ordered that the House hold two sessions each day commencing at nine o'clock in the forenoon & at two o'clock in the afternoon until otherwise ordered
An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing that all messages between the two Branches of the Legislature be transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate & Clerk of the House
