Message from the Governor

To the Senate & House of Representatives

In pursuance of the request of the two Houses of the Legislature I have applied to the executive of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for information in relation to the tracts & quantities of land north & south of the monument line sold and conveyed or contracted to be sold or conveyed by said Commonwealth with the stipulated times of payment & have received from that executive a statement of the Land Agent of the Commonwealth containing the desired information which the Secretary will herewith lay before you -

Jany. 24, 1831 - which message with accompanying documents was sent from the Senate for concurrence referred to the joint standing Committee on State Lands & the House concurred

Bill - additional to the several acts now in force respecting workhouses & houses of correction & for the punishment of common drunkards was read & laid on the table & 200 copies thereof ordered to be printed for the use of the House -

Bill making further provision for the partition of real estate was read a 3d. time & passed to be engrossed - sent up for concurrence

Report of the Select Committee of the House granting an order of notice on the Petition of William Rice & others was read & accepted.

Report of the Committee on Claims granting leave to withdraw on the Petition of Samuel Cony came from the Senate accepted for concurrence & the House concurred
