Resolve directing the Land agent to clear out and make passable certain portages in this State - was read first and second time and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a third reading

Bill - granting a bounty on Bears and Wildcats came from the Senate for concurrence indefinitely postponed - and the House concurred

Bill - additional to acts relating to the State Prison - was read a first and second time and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a third reading.

The Committee on Engrossed Bills report as duly engrossed - Resolve - in favor of Passamaquoddy Indians providing for the support of Governor Francis Joseph which was finally passed.

On motion of Mr. Delesdernier of Calais Ordered that Messrs. Delesdernier of Calais, McCrate of Nobleborough and Barnard of Dixfield be a Committee to take into consideration the expediency of repealing an Act entitled an Act fixing the place of the permanent Seat of Government and prescribing where the Legislature shall hold its sessions passed Feby. 24. 1827 - and also receive such information as may be communicated to them, also the expense for which a suitable building can be erected for the State in the town of Portland of dimensions one quarter larger than the Public Buildings, partly erected in the town of Augusta - and the question upon postponing indefinitely this order was taken by yeas and nays as follows - Yeas 64 Nays 70 - and the order was then passed.
