[Com to inform the Governor of his election] On motion by Mr Cushman Ordered that Messrs Cushman, Sweat and Hathaway with such as the House may join be a committee to wait on Enoch Lincoln, Esq and inform him that he has been elected by the People Governor of the State of Maine for the current politcal year and that the two Houses of the Legislature are ready to convene in the Representatives chamber that in their presence he may take and subscribe the oaths of office required by the Constitution and to receive any communication he may be pleased to make to them. [Report of Committee to inform the Governor of his election] Mr Cushman from the Committee reported that they had waited on Enoch Lincoln Esq and informed him of his election by the People to be Governor of the State of Maine for the current political year & the Governor elect was pleased to say that he accepted the office and would meet the two Branches of the Legislature in the Representatives Chamber forthwith for the purpose of being qualified by taking the oaths agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution.
