36 Thursday January 10th 1828

[Order directing the Secy of State cause to be printed Resolve of Massachusetts granting a township of land to this State + Rep of the agents on the Canada Road] On motion of Mr Herrick, Ordered that the Secretary of State two hundred and fifty copies of the Resolve of the Legislature of Massachusetts of June last conditionally granting a town ship of land to this State, and of the Report of the agents on the Canada road to be printed forthwith and that he furnish each member of the Executive Council and each member of the Legislature with one copy and deposit the remainder in the State Library subject to the disposal of the Governor. Sent down for concurrence.

[Order of the H.R. directing the Com on the Jud to inquire into the expediency of altering the law relative to highway taxes] Orders of the House of Representatives that the Committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire into the expediency of so altering the law on highways, that persons neglecting to work out their highway taxes after sixty days notice may be compelled to pay the same in money.


[Order of H.R. establishing pound fees by Law] " That the committee of the Judiciary be instructed to take into consideration the expediency of establishing by Law, pound keepers fees.

[Order H.R. expd of repealing 9th Sec of "Act to estbsh Damariscotta Canal"] That the committee on the Judiciary be requested to take into consideration the expediency of repealing the ninth section of the Law entitled " An Act to establish the Damariscotta Canal passed March 10th, 1821 with leave to report by bill or otherwise,

[Order H.R. respecting alteration of Law respecting highways] "That the committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire into the expediency of so altering or amending the additional Law respecting highways which passed February 23rd 1825 in such a manner that whenever a fine shall be imposed on any town or plantation for the repair of any highway, that no agent may have the power to deprive the town of plantation that may comply with the requisitions of said Law, from receiving the benefit extended by sd Act

"That the committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire into
