50 [Report on pet. of Smith Baker and others recommitted] towns reported leave to withdraw on the petition of Smith Baker and others, and on motion by Mr Cushman the Senate recommitted the same with instructions to consider the expediency of appointing an impartial judicious and disinterested committee to view the towns of Litchfield and Bowdoin in the County of Lincoln and to report the fitness and eligibility of setting off parts of each town to be erected into a separate town in accordance with the prayer of the petitioners Smith Baker and others the expense to be paid by the party petitioning sent down for concurrence.
