Met according to adjournment.

Ordered that Messrs Phelps of Fairfield, Rideout of Cumberland and Bradford of Friendship be a committee to take into consideration the expediency of erecting County Work Houses &c - read & passed.

Ordered, on motion of Mr Mitchell of Freeport, that the Committee on the Judiciary take into consideration the expediency of passing a law, giving to Ship Carpenters, Blacksmiths & others, furnishing materials and doing labour on ships and vessels, a lien on such ships and vessels for the payment of their claims - and that said committee have leave to report &c - Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Hazeltine of Searsmont, Ordered that Messrs Hazeltine of Searsmont, Adams of Portland & Bishop of Westbrook be a committee to inquire into the expediency of providing a well of water at the State Arsenal, and also of the expediency of the erection of a suitable fence around said Arsenal. read & passed.

On motion of Mr Mitchell of Freeport, Ordered that the committee on the judiciary take into consideration the expediency of passing a law by which Judges of Probate in the several Counties shall have the same power as the Supreme Judicial Court now have to grant licence [license] to Guardians to make sale of the real estate of their wards, & to report &c - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

[This order came from the Senate nonconcurred.]

Ordered, on motion of Mr Shaw of Wiscasset, that the committee on the Judiciary be required to provide by law for the choice of Electors of President & Vice President for this State
