A message was received from the Senate by Mr Hutchinson their Secretary, proposing a convention of the two branches of the Legislature in the Representatives Chamber at eleven oclock on Wednesday next for the purpose of coming to the choice of a Treasurer of State - and the House concurred and the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.

A message was also received from the Senate by Mr Hutchinson their Secretary informing the House that the Senate had so far receded from their former vote as to fix the time of meeting on Monday mornings at eleven instead of ten oclock.

Petitions of Caleb Jewett & als for an allowance of their account for laying out the Canada Road - - of Nathaniel Williams & als that the Land Agent may be directed to convey to them certain lands. were severally read & referred to the committee on State Lands. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Henry W Fuller for an inquiry into the legality of certain taxes on a township of land bought by him of the Medical Society of Massachusetts, & if found illegal that the amount thereof may be refunded was read & referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Pelatiah Leach Junr & als inhabitants of the town of Penobscot for a law authorizing them to open sluices for the passage of fish &c - was read & referred to the committee on interior fisheries. Sent up for concurrence.

Remonstrance of Thomas A Hill & others against the petition of Samuel Veazie & others for a Canal &c was read & referred to the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals. Sent up for concurrence.
