Bill - additional to an act concerning the assessment and collection of taxes, reported by the joint committee of the 8th inst, in this House was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Ordered that Messrs Russell of Temple, Leach of Raymond and Hubbard of Shapleigh with such as the Senate may join be a committee to inquire into the expediency of so altering the existing law requiring thee superintending School Committees in each town and plantation to visit the Schools of each District at the commencement and close thereof as not to require them to visit said Schools unless directed by the towns or plantations to which they belong at their annual meetings for the choice of towns or plantation officers with leave &c - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Ordered that Messrs Hinkley of Industry, Perkins of Topsham & Gibson of Denmark be a committee to inquire into the expediency of amending the Act regulating the selection, empannelling and service of Jurors, with leave &c - read & passed.
