On motion of Mr Vance of Baring, Ordered that Messrs Vance of Baring, Sumner of Lubec & Moor of Steuben be a committee to take into consideration the expediency of furnishing the State with two carriages for field pieces for an Artillery Company on the river St Croix to report & - read & passed.

On motion of Mr Carpenter of Howland Ordered that a committee to consist of one member from each County on the part of the House with such as the Senate may join be instructed to inquire into the expediency of fixing a minimum price below which the Land Agent shall not be permitted to sell at Auction the townships and half townships appropriated for the purpose of erecting Public Buildings with leave to report &c - and Messrs Carpenter of Howland, White of Monmouth, Parsons of New Gloucester, Bradford of Friendship, Warren of Hiram, Putnam of Freeman, McClure of Waldo, Pond of Bucksport Sumner of Lubec & Sayward of Alfred were appointed said Committee. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve in favor of the town of Whiting, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence

On motion of Mr Rowell of Jefferson, Ordered that the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals be instructed to consider the expediency of authorizing the Secretary of State, to purchase ten sets of Stricklands Reports upon Canals, Rail Roads, Turnpike, Bridges &c for the use of such Corporations and others in each County within the State, one set of which to be deposited with the Treasurer of each County, and to be loaned to such, only by order of the Justices of the Court of Sessions within their respective Counties, with leave & - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to incorporate the town of Edmunds, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
