to assess a tax on the owners of dogs, came from the Senate amended in the title so that the title shall read, "An act authorizing the town of Eastport to assess a tax on the owners of Dogs" for concurrence - and the House receded from their former vote so far as to pass the Bill to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate as thus amended.
Remonstrance of the town of York against the petition of Joseph Thompson & als - and Petition of of the town of Hollis for a committee to establish the line between said town & Waterboro' - were severally read & referred to the committee on the incorporation of towns. Sent up for concurrence.
Bill - additional to an act concerning the assessment and collection of taxes - was taken up & assigned for consideration on Tuesday next at ten oclock.
On motion, Ordered that the Clerk cause three hundred copies of the Resolve in relation to aggressions upon the North Eastern frontier of the State, to be printed for the use of the Legislature - read & passed.
