The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed, Bill - enlarging the powers of Constables in the town of Eastport - - to prevent the destruction of Alewives in Little River in the town of Perry - which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

The same committee reported as duly engrossed, Resolve upon the petition of the town of Monson - - in favor of Ichabod R Chadbourne - which were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to incorporate Alfred Academy, was taken up, amended, and then refused a passage to be engrossed. The question of passing the same to be engrossed was taken by yeas & nays and decided as follows - Yeas 59 Nays 68. [See appendix page 303]

Bill - to incorporate Cherryfield Academy, reported with amendments which were adopted, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed as thus amended. Sent up for concurrence

Bill - establishing Bowdoinham Academy, was read a third time & amended, and then refused a passage - The question was taken by yeas and nays and decided as follows yeas 27 nays 92 [See appendix page 307.]
