Petition of Aaron Hobart with the accompanying papers taken from the last years files & sent down at the request of the House, was read & referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

The committee on so much of the Governors Speech as relates to the Mattanawcook Road, were discharged & the subject matter thereof referred to to the Committee on State Lands, in concurrence with the Senate.

Petition of James Shea for leave to change his name was read & referred to the committee on change of names.

Petition of the Proprietors of Oldtown Bridge Corporation for an extension of the provisions of their Charter, was read & referred to the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion by Mr. Deshon of Biddeford, Ordered that the Committee on Banks & Banking be instructed to inquire into an act in addition to an act passed Feby 23 1827 respecting the liabilities of the Directors of Thomaston, Manufacturers, Union, Canal & Vassalboro Banks, the same having been touched in the report of the Commissioners on Banks &c read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
