The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed - Bill - regulating evidence in certain cases - - for the preservation of Kennebec Bridge - - for the preservation of SouthWest bend Bridge - - to incorporate the Maine Manufacturing Company for the encouragement & improvement of machinery & coloring and dressing Cloth - - an additional act respecting the appointment of Clerks of the Judicial Courts - were severally passed to be enacted. Bill - An additional act respecting Foreign Attachment, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 o clock assigned for a 3d reading.

Petition of Shubael Marston praying compensation for land bought for a Gun House - was read & referred to the committee on claims. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - authorizing a Lottery for the benefit of the Dameriscotta [Damariscotta] Canal Corporation - was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 o clock assigned for a 3d Reading.

Bill - An additional act respecting Sheriffs, came from the Senate, that body refusing to concur the House in their reference of the Bill to the Committee on the Judiciary - The House recede from their vote so referring the Bill - and commit the Bill to the select committee who reported the same.

Bill - to incorporate the Ellsworth Mutual Fire Insurance Company was read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
