Bill - to ascertain the number, condition & annual expense of the paupers in this State, came from the Senate that body insisting upon their vote passing the Bill to be engrossed, proposing a conference & appointing as Conferees on their part, Messrs Phelps Kingsbury, & Emerson - The House insist upon their former vote postponing the Bill indefinitely, accept the proposition for a Conference and appoint as Conferees on their part Messrs McCobb of Phipsburg, Dole of Alna & Selden of Norridgewock.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill - to incorporate the Winthrop Agricultural Society - - to authorize the town of Bangor to regulate the harbor in that town - - incorporating the Master Wardens & members of Fraternal Lodge - - to incorporate the South Parish in the town of Bridgton - - for the preservation of Highways - which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Report on petition of Daniel Crooker & others granting leave to withdraw, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate

Bill - An additional Act establishing the salaries of certain officers therein named, was read once & refused a second reading.

Bill, in further addition to an act to regulate the Manufacture & Inspection of Stone Lime & Lime Casks, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 o clock assigned for a 3d reading.

Resolve in favor of Joseph B Prince, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed as amended on sheet annexed marked R. Sent up for concurrence.
