The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed, Resolve - requiring returns from Registers of Deeds- - for the payment of Contingent Expenses - which were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

The Committee on Bills in the third reading to whom were referred with enlarged powers, the Bill relating to the government of the State Prison reported by the committee on the Judiciary and also the Bill on the same subject prepared by the Attorney General together with all the accompanying papers reported as a New draft Bill - an act respecting the State Prison and the Rules, Regulations and Management thereof, but before any question was taken the House adjourned until Afternoon.

Afternoon. Met according to adjournment.

On motion of Mr Dole of Alna, Ordered, that the committee on the Pay Roll make up said Roll so as to include Friday next - read & passed.

The Committee to whom was referred so much of the Governors Speech as related to the Massachusetts Claim made their report which was read & accepted. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to prevent the destruction of Moose, Deer & Carraboo, [caribou] was called up & the House adhered to their vote passing the Bill to be engrossed agreeably to the recommendation of the Conferees on the part of the House.

Bill - to prevent the destruction of Fish in Sebasticook River, came down the Senate, adhering to their vote passing the same to be engrossed. The House adhered to their vote refusing the Bill a passage agreeably to the recommendation of the Conferees on the part of the House.
