[15] [Counsellors elected] appointed a Committee to receive, sort and count the votes who having atteded to that duty reported that the whole number of votes given by the Convention was 160 necessary to constitute an election 81 Caleb Emery had 111 Phinehas Varnum " 113 Reuel Washburn 112 " Ebenezer Farley " Jonathan G. Hunton 112 Simeon Stetson 112 John S. Kimball 114 who were by the President of the Convention delcared duly elected - the Committee also reported that there was a double ballot containing the names of Caleb Emery, Phinehas Varbynm Ebenezer Farley, Jonathan G. Hunter, John Turner, Simeon Stetson, John S. Kimball which was not counted - and the Convention separated.
[order directing the Secretary of State to notify the Counsellors elect] In Senate - On motion by Mr Kingsbury ordered that the Secretary of State be directed forthwith to notify Caleb Emery of Eliot, Phinehas Varnum of Portland, Reuel Washburn of Livermore, Ebenezer Farley of Newcastle, Johnathan G Huntoon of Readfield, Simeon Stetson of Hamden and John S. Kimball of Belfast that they have this day severally been elected by a convention of the two Houses of the Legislature Counsellors to advise the Governor in the Executive part of the Government for the current political year and request their immediate attendance at the Council Board - Sent down for concurrence - Concurred -
