Proceedings of the Convention assembled to fill the vacancies at the Senate Board, from the Districts of York & Washington.

Chamber of the House of Representatives Portland, February 2nd 1830

On this day, at eleven o'clock, the House of Representatives being in session, agreeably to the request of said House of Representatives contained in their Preamble & Order communicated by message to the Senate yesterday by the Clerk of the House, the following Senators elect, came in, viz. James Drummond, Syms Gardner, Halsey Healey, Ebenezer Hilton, Asher Hinds, Sandford Kingsbury, Elijah Morse & Ebenezer S. Phelps, and seats were assigned to them by the Speaker - Thereupon it was Resolved, That the members of the House of Representatives present, and the Senators present, do now form themselves into a Convention for the purpose of filling the vacancies at the Senate Board.

The Speaker of the House presided as Chairman of the Convention.

On motion of Mr. Kent of Bangor, Resolved, That the Clerk of the House, be requested to officiate as Secretary of the Convention - and he entered upon that duty accordingly -
