to examine the credentials of members & report whether a quorum be present.

On motion of Mr Bourne of Kennebunk, Ordered that said Committee examine the credentials of members claiming seats, and report the names of such as appear to be duly returned, and the towns & districts from which they come respectively. - read & passed.

Adjourned until two oclock this afternoon.

Afternoon. The convention met according to adjournment.

The Committee appointed to examine the credentials of those claiming to be members &c &c, reported a list of such as appear to be duly elected, and also reported a statement of facts in the following cases viz, "A paper purporting to be a record of the proceedings of the town "of Waterboro' in the County of York by which appears that on the "fourteenth day of September last a meeting was held in said town "of Waterboro' for the choice of a Representatives, and after several "ballotings, and no choice being made, that the meeting was adjourn- "ed by Andrew Roberts until nine oclock in the forenoon of the "next day, and the said record is subscribed by said Andrew "Roberts as one, & Orlando Bagley & John Hill Junr the other "Selectmen, and Orlando Bagley Town Clerk - That on said "next day being the fifteenth day of said September, a meeting "was held according to adjournment, and on the second ballot "Andrew Roberts received a majority of votes - "That from the certificates of the towns of Troy, Unity & "Burnham of a meeting held on the thirty first day of October "last Joseph C Small was duly elected, but from certificates from "the towns of Troy & Burnham of a meeting held on the tenth of said "October, Phinehas S Bennett appears to be elected - "That Albert Smith of Nobleboro' has filed an affidavit "that he was legally elected a representative from Nobleboro' but has not
