Clerk communicated the message accordingly.

On motion of Mr Boutelle of Waterville, a similar message to the foregoing, was communicated to the Executive, by the Clerk.

On motion of Mr Smith of Nobleboro; Ordered that Messrs Smith of Nobleborough, Shaw of Wiscasset & Smith of Newfield be a committee to contract with some suitable persons to discharge the duties of Messenger and Page of this House the current political year - read & passed.

On motion of Mr Ruggles of Thomaston; Ordered that Messrs Ruggles of Thomaston, Adams of Portland & Shapleigh of Berwick be a committee to prepare & report rules and orders for the government of the House - read & passed.

On motion of Mr Scamman of Pittston, Ordered that Messrs Scamman of Pittston, Knowlton of Montville & Sweat of Prospect be a committee to wait on the several ordained Ministers of the Gospel of the town of Portland and respectfully request them to attend this House on each day of its present session to perform the duties of Chaplain, on rotation according to seniority - and that it shall be the duty of the Doorkeeper to inform them on what days they will be respectively expected - read & passed.

On motion of Mr Ruggles of Thomaston, Ordered that the House hold two sessions each day commencing at half past nine o'clock A.M. and at three oclock P.M. until otherwise ordered, except on Mondays and then the forenoon session to commence at eleven oclock. read & passed.
