Afternoon - Met according to adjournment.

On motion of Mr Shapleigh of Berwick, Ordered that Messrs Shapleigh of Berwick, White of Monmouth & Swan of Portland be a committee to agree with some suitable person to perform the duties of an Assistant Clerk of the House during the present session of the Legislature - read & passed.

The Speaker announced his appointment of monitors[underlined] as follows - viz Mr Shapleigh of Berwick for the Western Division "(Mr) Frost of Bethel "(for the) Middle do "(Mr) Ames of Clinton "(for the) Eastern do

The Speaker also announced his appointment of a committee of Elections[underlined] as follows - viz Mr Clark of Hallowell "(Mr) Bourne of Kennebunk "(Mr) Clark of Limington "(Mr) Norton of Canaan & "(Mr) Cole of Paris.

On motion of Mr Shaw of Wiscasset, Ordered, that the Door Keeper employed by the last House of Representatives perform the duties of his office in the present Legislature until a new one be appointed - read & passed.

On motion of Mr Kent of Bangor, Ordered that the certificates of the elections of members together with all accompanying papers, now in possession of the House be referred to the Committee on Elections - read & passed.
