Met according to adjournment.

On motion of Mr. Baxter of Bristol, Ordered, That the Committee on the Militia be instructed to enquire into the expediency of doing away all General Reviews, and all Company trainings except the Annual Inspection, with leave &c - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Jonathan Ray of Greene for leave to change his name was read & referred to the Committee on change of names.

Petition of Daniel Merrill Junr & others for a revision of the Militia Law &c, was read & referred to the committee on the Militia & Military affairs. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Norton of Canaan, Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of providing by law for the taking of the Census of the Inhabitants of this State by the Selectmen of Towns and Plantations, or otherwise, preparatory to a new apportionment of Representatives in this House - read & passed Sent up for concurrence.

A message was received from the Senate by Mr Kavanagh their Secretary, informing the House, that the Senate have elected Sanford Kingsbery President pro.[underlined] tem.[underlined] of that body.

Petition of the Proprietors of Canton Bridge for an extension of the provisions of their Charter, was read & referred to the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals. Sent up for concurrence.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs Phelps, Morse & Gardner with such as the House may
