On motion of Mr Wells of Freeport,

  Ordered, That the Senate be requested to take from their files of last year the petition of "John Stock bridge & others" and send the same to this House - read & passed. Sent up.

Petition of the Inhabitants of Fryeburg & report thereon, taken from the last years files of the Senate, & sent down, was referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Thomas Bartlett & others that Inholders & Retailers may be restrained by {law from from selling Ardent Spirits to Indians - - of the Penobscot Tribe of Indians on the same subject and requesting {the Legislature to aid them in expelling the evils of intemperance {from their Tribe - were severally read & referred to Messrs Kent of Bangor, Gilman of Wells & Small of Unity.

Petition of John Dickinson, Judge of Probate for Washington County praying for an increase of his Salary, was read & referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Daniel J Perley for allowance for attending a destitute family as a Physician out of the limits of any incorporated place was read & referred to the committee on Claims. Sent up for concurrence.

Petitions of the Penobscot Indians for for leave to sell two townships of land - - of the Penobscot Indians for leave to sell all their timber timber at one sale - were severally read & referred to the committee on State Lands. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Smith of Nobleboro,

   Ordered, That when the House adjourns it adjourn to meet at half past nine oclock tomorrow morning read & passed.
