Governors message - and the House concurred.

On motion of Mr. Ruggles of Thomaston, Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire whether any alterations are necessary in the existing laws relative to the power of Courts in entering up judgment on general verdict, with leave &c read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr. Kent of Bangor Ordered, That the Senate be requested to take from their files of last year and send to this House, the petition of Seward Porter relative to the Navigation of Sebago Pond. read & passed. Sent up.

Bill - an additional act respecting the Winthrop Bank, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill - altering the time of the fall term of the Supreme Judicial Court in the County of Lincoln, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to encourage the destruction of Crows, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill - to authorize the removal of prisoners from the jail in the County of Penobscot to the jail in the County of Waldo, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed with an amendment. Sent up for concurrence.

Communications were received from John Burgin & Elisha Allen Counsellors elect signifying their acceptance.

Bill - in favor of the Settlers on Townships numbered Ten & Eleven was read once & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 2nd Reading.

Bill - to set off a tract of land from Pittsfield and annex the same to Canaan, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd Reading.
