Otis Little had eighty two - John Burgen had eighty four - Daniel Steward Junior had eighty seven - David Dunlap had seventy six - Isaac Lane had seventy four - Allen H Cobb had seventy four - Benjamin Riggs had seventy four - Joseph Southwick had seventy three - John H Smith had seventy three - Ralph C Johnson had seventy five - Charles Peavey had seventy five - Phinehas Varnum had seven - Joshua W Hathaway had five - Parker McCobb had three - Nathaniel Hobbs had three - Schabod Bucknam had three - Edward Butler had two - Drummond Farnsworth had two - & Caleb Emery had one - and the six first named gentlemen aforesaid were declared elected - The convention failing on the first ballot to elect the seventh[underlined] Counsellor[underlined], it was ordered that the second ballot be deferred until tomorrow morning at eleven o'clock -

A committee consisting of Messrs Megguire, Phelps, Clark of Hallowell, Howard of Brownfield & Kent of Bangor were appointed to receive sort & count the votes for a Secretary of State and having attended to that duty, reported the whole number given, to be one hundred & fifty nine - necessary to constitute an election eighty - Edward Russell had eighty four - Roscoe G Greene had seventy four & Elias Thomas had one - and Edward Russell was declared elected.

A committee consisting of Messrs Drummond, Steele, Adams of Gardiner, Cole of Paris & Clark of Levant were appointed to receive, sort & count the votes for a Treasurer of State, and having attended to the duty assigned them, reported the whole number given to be one hundred & sixty two - necessary to a choice eighty two - Elias Thomas had eighty seven & Mark Harris seventy five and the former was declared elected.

On motion it was Ordered That the Convention now separate and that it reassemble at eleven oclock tomorrow morning.
