Bill additional act respecting Enginemen, fire engines & the extinguishment of fires, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve in favor of the Maine Wesleyan Seminary, came from the Senate in a new draft for concurrence. The House nonconcurred & adhered to their former vote refusing a passage to the Resolve.

Resolve in favor of John G. Deane was read once & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a second reading.

Bill to regulate Banks & Banking, came from the Senate referred to the next Legislature & notice ordered thereon for concurrence, and the House concurred.

Resolve respecting roads & bridges in the town of Abbot, was read once & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a second reading.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill to apportion & assess on the inhabitants of this State a tax of fifty thousand dollars -

- additional act providing for the Government of the State Prison, and for the punishment of convicts - 

- to incorporate the Maine Baptist Convention - which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve respecting roads & bridges in Patricktown plantation, came from the Senate passage refused - and the House adhered to their vote passing this Resolve to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve to aid in the publication of a general History of Maine came from the Senate referred to the next Legislature for concurrence and the House concurred.
