110 On motion of Mr. Patten of Hampden Ordered, that the Committee on Literature be directed to enquire into the expediency of so amending the law respecting School Agents the in case of neglecting or refusing to set up Schools when required by their districts, that they may be liable to fine, also making it the duty of School Committee to set up schools in such cases - sent up for concurrence.

A Communication was received from the Clerk of the Courts in the County of Kennebec in compliance with an order of the 13th. instant which was read and referred to the Select Committee of this House who have that subject under consideration.

An Order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Committee on Banks and Banking to enquire into the expediency of modifying the 5th section of An Act to regulate Banks and Banking - and the House concurred

Petition of sundry Inhabitants of the town of Gray for an alteration in the law establishing fees etc. was read and referred to the Joint Select Committee who have that subject under consideration - sent up for concurrence -

Report on an order relating to the Inspector General of Beef and.c. the Committee asking leave to be discharged from the further consideration of the subject, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred - and upon motion referred the same to the Select Committee of this House who have under consideration the Petition of Joshua Richardson & others.
