A Communication was received from the Clerk of the Courts in Cumberland County, in compliance with an order of the 13th ultimo, was read and referred to the Select Committee of this House who have under consideration that subject -

Resolve in favor of the towns of Buxton and Hollis, was read once and refused a passage in concurrence with the Senate.

Petition of the Proprietors of Ticouie Bridge, for a law prohibiting persons passing the same on horseback or in carriages faster than a walk came from the Senate referred to the Committee on Turnpikes Bridges and Canals for concurrence and the House concurred -

Petition of Ira Wadleigh and others for liberty to purchase of the Indians, Orson Island, came from the Senate referred to the Committee on State Lands for concurrence, and the House concurred.

Petition of Charley Packard and others for an Act to incorporate the Pucinian Society of Bowdoin College, came from the Senate referred to the Committee on Literary Institutions for concurrence and the House concurred.

Petition of Benjamin Shaw and others citizens of Frankfort that a Bill to encourage the pursuits of Agriculture, referred to this Legislature may pass into a Law, came from the Senate referred to the Committee on Agriculture, for concurrence and the House concurred.
