Bill to change the name of the Winthrop Agricultural Society was read once, and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading and the same was committed to Messrs Scammon, Merrill and Thayer.

Bill defining the mode of calling the first meetings of corporations came up from the House recommitted to the committee on the Judiciary. The Senate reconsider their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed and concur with the House in said recommitment.

Preamble and Resolve in relation to the United State Bank were read a second time, and a motion was made by Mr Scammon to amend by striking out after the word "charter," in the second time the word, "and whereas," and insert the words. "Resolved that;" also to strike out the word, "therefore" at the end of the Preamble and all that follows, so that it would read "whereas the Bank of the United States has applied to Congress for a renewal of its Charter, Resolved that it is the sentiment of both Branches of the Legislature that its renewal would endanger the best interest of the county."
